Kids playing with Monster toys...
« on: January 09, 2008, 11:04:51 AM »
I'm trying to compilate movie scenes in which appears kids or teenagers playing with Monster toys, Board Games or only that they are horror maniacs.
I remember in one The Munsters episode in which one Eddie's friend appears with a Frankenstein Robot, the Salem's Lot Mini series, in which Mark in painting Aurora Model kits,
Other movies like: Monster Squad, My mom is a werewolf, Brainscan, Neon Maniacs, Friday the 13th IV... etc. I'm sure that I have seen more scenes, but I not remember the movies.
Which other movies do you know that appears Monster toys? Expecially vintage toys :)
Is possible that in a episode of The Brady Bunch?

Ha ha!  Neon Maniacs is another favorite of mine.

"It Lives Again/It's Alive II" features a birthday party, and one of the presents is a Dick Smith Pressman makeup kit.

"Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster" has a scene with Godzilla toys...
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

There IS an episode of the Brady Bunch where the boys are wearing Halloween masks.  Bobby's is the Creature if I remember correctly, and I think this is the one:

Is that a produced Goji toy or one made just for the film?

It looks to be a commercially-available Godzilla..."Smog Monster" is one of those alternate-reality stories in which the monster is real but there are also kids' toys of the monster.  Although at that point, the character had been transformed into a hero...

Young Ken is shown playing with two Bullmark Godzilla toys: a Giant Godzilla sans tower accessory, and a standard Godzilla. If you look carefully at his play area in other scenes, you can also spot Bullmark versions of King Ghidrah and Baragon.

Cool.  I've got three glow in the dark versions of the Super 7 giant size edition of the smaller one (which I thought was Marusan, perhaps they re-released it after Bullmark?).  Thanks for the info.

Ahhhhhhhhh is true!!! I forgot the Godzilla Movies!!! hehehe. Cool scene :)
I remember this Brady Bunch episode, but I not remember the creature mask :( But I have in my memory other scene of the Brady Bunch? I'm not sure... They was in a shop and one of the boys look a toy that like him, and the toy was a Monster. It was a TV serie in the earlys 70, but I not sure if was the Brady Bunch. I saw the Brady Bunch here in Spain when I was a child in the years 80's, but it was a great TV serie.

I must see again the movie, but is possible that in "Funhouse" appears a wolfman toy?

There's a whole lot of monster stuff in the kid's room at the beginning of "The Funhouse," yes.  It's a Monster Kid room!

What about Corey Feldman in "Friday the 13th Part 4"...he had a bunch of masks he'd made, but I don't remember, did he have monster toys too?

Marusan came first. When they went bankrupt, Bullmark acquired their molds and reissued their Godzilla-related items. They also did several kaiju that Marusan never got around to. There's a good article on vintage kaiju toys here:

In "Monster Squad", the little boy who finds the Mummy in his closet has an Amtoy My Pet Monster in his room. The My Pet Monster also has a cameo in the movie "Adventures in Babysitting".
