I was watching that, but I didn't bother bidding.  I knew I wouldn't win, so there was no reason to get in other people's way.

I have always really liked the artwork and the general layout of the package, but not quite enough to take the plunge on buying one.

I had it as a kid--after I saw Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, I cut the book up to make my own deck of cards like Cushing had in the movie.

Not knowing anything about that, I naively put it on my watch list when it first went up. I removed it when it was around $80. Had no idea it was that important. I just liked the packaging and artwork.

It always goes for a lot when it comes up.  I like them but not nearly as much as some do.  Why Glow Globs, which are about as scarce and glow in the dark, go for significantly less than this does remains a mystery to me.  It's very cool.  I have it on my watch list but didn't bother to bid either.

OMG, $611.00!
The last time I saw mine, it was living in the nether regions of one of my desk drawers (of course that was like 40 years ago). :o

That's the first time I ever saw that! *Love* the graphics! Wonder who the artist was? It has a Wally Wood flavor to it.

How well i remember buying mine at the local 5&10 back in the day. The putty had a really unusual odor...Nothing like Silly Putty. Mine also kicked around for years before succumbing to the void. The last time i saw it, the putty had melted to the interior of the skull in some kind of weird chemical reaction. I agree with you Bobby, Glow Globs are WAY harder to find and the last one i saw on ebay went for a couple of hundred bucks. That's ANOTHER ONE i'd like to get back again some day.

Remember Super Stuff? Another wacky Wham-o product. A huge pink glob created by mixing mysterious pink powder with water.
You had to keep in the refrigerator. Nevertheless it would get all weird after a couple of weeks. That also had an odd aroma.

YES! I even have a tub of Super Stuff still in the package. This was a fave of mine as a kid. I kept it in the fridge until it turned to sludge. One night i invited my 2 cousins over for a sleep over. In the middle of the night [we couldn't sleep] we had a war, hurling Purina dog chow at each other. When i ran out of ammo, i headed for the fridge and started scooping out the Super Sludge and flinging it at both of them. It got in their hair, the carpet and upholstery...they soon surrendered and needless to say it was the last sleepover i had for a VERY long time.

Sounds almost as toxic as this WHAMO product:

Even as a kid I knew that this stuff by its odor could not be good for you, let alone sticking a straw into it and inhaling and exhaling......

Could never get that to work like it showed--either it would pop when it was only a few inches round, or it would shoot off the straw like a spitball.

Mike - thanks for the heads up. I loved Silly Putty and its ilk (I had Flubber, too!), but don't recall seeing that back in the day.

Other Mike - I see Jack Davis there (or a ripoff of same), more than Woody?

Great weekend,
-Craig
