Dark Shadows could be cool with Depp IF  Burton directs it.  Burton knows that Gothic style very well. just look at Sleepy Hollow, its basically a Hammer film!

I think Depp could make a good vampire, he is kinda creepy himself.

Depp is a frikkin chameleon and could play any role he takes.  He'll be an amazing Barnabas, but it won't be the Barnabas we know and admire from the tv series, so I'd actually prefer he play a different vampire.

I for one am looking forward to Depp's portrayal of Barnabus.  I agree he is a chamelion  but I think he will tap into Frid's portrayal and it will be amazing to watch him emulate Frid's mannerisms.

Depp signed on but as Barnabas?  He'd make an awesome Quentin.

Depp will want to make the character his own, rather than try to duplicate another's performance.  He said as much when interviewed about Willy Wonka.  I'd prefer to see Barnabas stay as close to the character I remeber as possible. 

Oddly, I'd rather they NOT introduce Quentin in the movie, at least not the 1st movie.  This will have to be targeted at audiences who know nothing of the series, so filling the screen with monsters they don't know could hurt the film.  A vampire, a witch, and a ghost are more than enough for whatever story line will appear.

There's also "The Last Voyage of the Demeter" which is, obviously, about Dracula's voyage by sea in the middle of the main story. Then there's the official sequel to Dracula, "Dracula: The Un-Dead", which will be based on the official sequel novel of the same name, due to be released this October.

On Monday, it was announced that Twilight star Cam Gigandet was joining Paul Bettany in comic book adaptation Priest, to be directed by Scott Stewart at Screen Gems.

The horror Western is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires and follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. Gigandet plays a young wasteland sheriff who is part vampire.

i dont think it ever came out in the USA yet, so i consider it new...

Or in aonther thread maybe, cause it caused alot of stir.
One of the scenes had a full frontal nudie shot of a 12 year old girl, it may have been in the original movie.

The movie is an original, haunting, creepy as hell vampire movie. Highly recommended to all horror fans. One of the best new vampire movies in awhile.

I'm not real big on the sub titled stuff but this looks like a MUST HAVE in my book. Killer horror involving kids
 Is high on my list.
