USBUYER
« on: January 01, 2008, 01:48:04 PM »
Several questions have come up about the eBay UserID USBUYER.  Here is their website in English:

http://www.us-buyer.com/english.html

In Japan, eBay does not have a presence, because Yahoo Auctions are established there and Yahoo Auctions are dominant like eBay is here.  There is a service for US Buyers that is like the service for Japanese buyers.  Some may want to use it, and even if not, it gives you a good idea of how USBUYER works for Japanese buyers.

If you look at this, you will see that they get outbid for things fairly often:
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidItems&userid=us-buyer1&completed=1&all=1&rows=100&sort=3

They are placing bids on behalf of their Japanese customers.  The bids are only as strong as the customer's bank account, but times when the yen is strong against the dollar will yield more activity from the Japanese market.

Toys or whatever.  They buy anything their buyers want.  The buyer finds the item and indicates how much they want to bid.  US-BUYER1 places the bid on their behalf, pays the seller, has the item shipped to their US warehouse, load all the items into containers, and ship them to Japan where they are mailed to the actual buyers.  They help overcome language barriers as well as sellers who don't ship internationally.  Toys are only a small part of what they buy.  From a seller point of view, they are really great to work with...

I've sold to them before, I think it might have been a creature item too. They are quick to pay but very slow on the Feedback, I don't think I ever got any.
