The Drunken Severed Head

Today is the official birth of universalmonsterarmy.com, the new UMA site! AND, significantly, it is the official birthday of the novel that lead to this group's creation, Mary Shelley's FRANKENSTEIN. FRANKENSTEIN was first published 190 years ago (Jan. 1, 1818) today.

Without this book (conceived in that amazing summer in 1816 where both Frankenstein's Monster, and Dracula's prototype, Lord Ruthven, were first dreamed up) we would not have the two monsters responsible for making Universal the classic monster factory it became. And thus NO Universal Monster Army! (Now THAT's a frightening thought!)

The UMA celebrates not only its new life on the web, but also the book that is its conceptual ancestor!

I'd sing Happy Birthday but I'm sound worse than an American Idol reject so I'll spare everyone as long as Kevin saves me a piece of cake. ~Stacy~
