What he did was wrong. He paid his debt. In FEDERAL prison. By all accounts he is making amends and is genuine.

We don't hear too much uproar about Donte Stallworth who killed a PERSON while they were driving drunk and he got all of 30 days????

Yes Vick's crimes were cruel, but he did years, not days. There are pedophiles who do less time than he did.

Tell the animals that he tormented and killed that he's paid his debt ... only a very sick person would harm an animal in their care (or a child) and Vick can never 'pay his debt' ,,, it's not like he's graffiti'd someone's house or broken an object. The fact that he could be that cruel, tells me (if no one else) what kind of sick person Vick is deep inside.

I agree Vick can never truly pay his debt. Never. Neither can an animal like Sandusky. Neither can I. My point is that God doesn't grade on the curve. We tend to assign comparative value to sin (the sins of others are, of course, always worse than mine it seems), but in God's eyes my sins are just as offensive as Vick's or Sandusky's, and the remedy is the same.

I hear you Flower, but 3 years in Federal prison is not a walk in the park. This was not a country club venue. Federal time is hard time. Street art and property damage won't even get you county time.

I believe the victim's family from Stallworth's drunk driving case may feel the same as you do about Vick.

I liked Gary's statement about "comparative value on sin" in the previous post. I'm guilty of it as well.

Look, no one here is a bigger animal lover than me. I openly admit that is my soft spot--so much so that I recently went as far as buying books "Cooking Vegetarian For Idiots" and finding things online "Working out vegan" etc etc...After about a month of it I just couldn't do it for various reasons. Still I don't like the idea of fur at all and I wont eat veal. I guess I have a Native American approach to it...I take what I need.

The whole animal thing is a part of life, it bothers me but it is what it is. I love how all these dudes in hardcore and metal music are "raging" about how meat is murder than drive away in cars that have leather trim.

The point I'm making is that what Vick did is wrong but everyone deserves a 2nd chance and it's not like he got a smack on the wrist. Andy Reid said it best. "Michael Vick is a phenomenal young man whose weak point was surrounding himself with the wrong people"..I believe that. I'm sure if he was hanging around "the right" people he wouldn't be involved in dog fighting.

Does anyone here realize that Greyhounds are still raced legally? You think all of those dogs get adopted and live happily ever after with Suzy and Jr? You think they all end up on a farm?

This stuff is awful and it goes on all over the place all of the time. Michael Vick is an extremely talented athlete and plays in the most prolific league of all time, thats why this was such a big story.

You think members of the FIFA Mexican Soccer team havent enjoyed a Sunday at a bullfight where an animal is slowly killed in front of cheering fans?

I get it, he did a bad thing--let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt now that he'll do the right thing and continue to be a positive personality in the NFL and hopefully lead the younger crowd down a better path learning from his mistakes.

Lawrence Taylor jerseys are still worn proudly around here. The guy was in a room with a beaten up 16 yr old girl and a bunch of scumbag drug dealers. Michael Vick went to jail for 3 years for participating in dog fighting--something that happens pretty frequently in the southern underground by the way--and you're pretty much the Anti-Christ for rooting for the Eagles....lol what?? Seriously?!

I'm done with the Vick thing already. I'm an Eagle fan 25+ years and a dog lover, I stand by my organization.

Anyway onto some fun football predictions.

Quote me...maybe lol..

1. Kansas City will win the division

2. The Texans will be AFC Champions

3. Drew Brees is going to play pissed and make a point

4. Giants will be lack luster and get hot late--but too late.

5. Detroit will win the North.

6. John Madden will somehow again be involved with the Raiders...soon.

7. The fate of the Eagles lies solely on Vick being healthy in the post season.

8. Andy Dalton will have a sophmore slump

9. Cam Newton will not

10. Tim Tebow will cause more of a distraction and do more damage to the soap opera that is the NY Jets.

Bold predictions BlackLagoon...I like the one about Madden and the Raiders. Detroit will win the North. Cam is the man.

The 'Skins looked lackluster Saturday night. They better keep RGIII on his feet to give him a chance in his pro career.

That's for sure, not much protection there. I really think Roger Goodell really screwed the skins chances of bolstering up their offensive line this year. Hopefully rg3 doesn't get killed this year. I am thinking we will be seeing a lot of running out of him this year.

Drew is too professional (and wants to get a higher paying position next year) to not do his best all the time.

I do think that the New Orleans Saints will either land  on either the top of the heap or on the bottom of pile.

Exactly. Did anyone hear any of the Brees interviews when the whole bounty thing was playing out? I got this idea that he was very annoyed that people would question the integrity of the organization. Along with the jokes made at the ESPYS, when they showed his face--Drew wasn't really digging those jokes. He's going to give 110% and I personally can't wait for the N.O. & Carolina games where the QB intensity is going to be off the hook!

Side note: Jim Irsay is out of his flippin' mind...you thought Jerry Jones was a ham?? Holy crap!

No kidding. Those two are like 2 year olds.........always fighting to be the center off attention, complete with the requisite narcissism to believe they should be.

I think Foles will be a big factor for the Eagles if Vick cant stay in the post season, this guy has impressed me so far. I agree with your comments on Tebow completely. Tebow is a great person from all accounts and nice change of pace in the type of player celebrated in the NFL, but the guy just isn't a very good QB. I expect big things from Washington and Detroit this year.

Foles looked incredible the last few games! A solid drop back and pass QB and a great addition to the offense. Now as long as the the staff don't do the polar opposite of works (as usual) and give Kafka the 2nd string job...Foles will compliment Vick well. Let's face it with Vick's track record of staying healthy, a reliable 2nd stringer is imperitive.

Not only was he impressive on the field, he seemed to answer all the questions right about knowing his role. A likeable and articulate guy, glad he's on board.

I know it's still pre-season but I think week 3 says more than any of the 4 weeks. This is "dress rehearsal" for sure. 10 to 1 you arent going to see 90% of the starters next week--and in Philly's case, they go right back to CLE in week 1. So this to me is a "good" week of BS ball. Having said that...Washington, man Baron, your team looked for real and the way Dallas is playing right now....it's gonna be the Beast In The East like back when.

Side note: 3 Days left till Madden 13....yelling at 12 year old kids through a blue tooth in my living room, mmmmmmm mmm! Can't beat it! lol.
