Depends what you mean by cheap and what you are looking for. A few months ago I got a half body with head high impact plastic for $50 delivered off Ebay. Paid by M.O too and got it from NY in 2 weeks. Seek and ye shall find.

Most larger cities will have dealers who sell mannequins second-hand. The standard categories to check in the Yellow Pages are “Store Fixtures, Used” and “Store Display, Used”. Even if it’s a lengthy drive to visit such an outlet, it can be a substantial saving in terms of cost and, especially, shipping charges. Better still, you get to see exactly what you’re buying and whether it serves your purpose.

Also, you might think about whether you really need a complete mannequin in the first place. If you’re going to create a lifesize monster, it’s better to use partial bodies. These are variously called “torso forms”, “bust forms”, “tailor’s dummies” and other names and they are much cheaper than standard mannequins. The best kind are neck-to-knee torso forms with the lower leg completed by a metal rod which attaches to the base. These allow you to make your figure any height you want and to create poses which regular mannequins don’t offer.

I wanted, for example, my Wolf Man to be in full attack mode…

… so I simply created the arms I needed out of PVC piping. The total cost (including the torso and plumbing supplies) was about $50 and I got a 7’ monster ready to maul and bite people, something I couldn’t have achieved with a much more expensive mannequin.

A lot of small boutiques are going under right now due to the economy - check your classifieds or craigslist for anyone selling store fixtures, they may have mannequins too.

I'm in Sydney, Australia, but when I won a screen-used Andorian costume on "It's a Wrap" eBay auctions, I did a quick Internet search for second hand male mannequins... and the first one that came up on Google was already blue!

Greetings, You may want to look at some of the listing at http://www.shopgoodwill.com/listings/ .  They have had a number of torso mannequins listed lately that have been going for under $50.  Just a thought.
