Trick or Treat Studios CFTBL Repaint
« on: April 08, 2023, 01:43:56 PM »
I have not seen many repaints of the Trick or Treat Studios Creature from the Black Lagoon mask; granted it looks pretty amazing right off the shelf. However, I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the stock paintjob. I felt that the shade of green was a little too yellow, and I wasn’t thrilled with the matte finish. Personally, I felt the Gillman needed to be more blueish or aqua green; I also wanted a more glossy, iridescent or pearlesque quality. Ultimately, I think my repaint ended up being both subtle, yet very effective.

'Looks really super, BRICK. Did you have any trouble getting your new paint to stick or did you strip the stock paint first?

Actually, I just lightly sponge painted the piece, without stripping the old paint. In fact, some of the original paint is probably showing through.
