Halloween Nightmares Shock Monster
« on: March 05, 2023, 06:50:45 PM »
This is the Halloween Nightmares Shock Monster kit produced by Garagekitsuscolors.com.
Sculpted by "Kreature Kid" Adam Dougherty. This was a really fun kit to build. I added
candle flicker LED's to the jack-o-lanterns and the strand of pumpkins on the fence lights
up as well. I also added some extra candy and the caramel apple to the base.
Kit is 1/6th scale.

Everything about the kit and your build is fabulous. Shock Monster is boss!

But is the kit styrene plastic or resin? And did you use enamel or acrylic paint?

 ???

That's an amazing kit and really well put together and painted, I hope you've found just the spot it deserves for displaying it?

Thanks Hepcat!!
The kit is made of resin, and i use acrylic paint exclusively.

Thanks Ian!!
Unfortunately it's in a box in my closet right now. Too much cool stuff and never enough shelf space!!
I do rotate collections every so often though.

Rotation is the way for me also due to space, so as long as it gets on display at some point then that will work :)

Really great set though.

I wish a legitimate model company would issue that diorama as a proper styrene kit. The idea behind that diorama and the sculpt is just that good.

Interesting also how far the Shock Monster has come from the first teaser sketch of the Topstone mask to one of the most beloved characters in the entire monster pantheon:

Shock Monster - Halloween Shindig

Does anyone know in which issue of Famous Monsters of Filmland that Shock Monster ad first appeared? That Shock Monster ad or other ones featuring his likeness subsequently ran in other Warren magazines and comic mags where I saw and admired it although I have no idea of precisely when or in which magazine.

All I can say is that Shock Monster sketch in the original ad still brings a smile to my face. (I know, I know, I must be bent.)

 ;)
