Surprised to see this gem get the Criterion treatment. Available for preorder now. That cover is absolute perfection!

I like it, too!  :)

Not a lot of extras, but the commentary ought to be good and the radio play with Boris Karloff is welcome.

Don't know what extra's they could even get for this...
The restoration and new cover is enough for me!

Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of deleted scenes, bloopers and BTS footage for most of these old movies.  :(

By the way, I've seen the Karloff TV movie version on YouTube in the past.
Do you think that'll ever see a physical release? It'd be worth it, I think.

Hope so.

There is also the 1969 TV version starring Fred Gwynne.

Never say never, but I think it would have happened by now, if it was gonna. What was the quality of the video? Did it look like a Kinescope?

I'd also like to be able to view the 1969 TV version starring Fred Gwynne.

Make-up by Dick Smith.  :)

On the topic of different versions. It's worth knowing that there are actually two Karloff TV movies of it. One with Peter Lorre and one without. I've seen the one without Lorre, not sure if the one with him even survives. But I hope it does. (Supposedly the one with Karloff and Lorre was shorter than usual, though, like only an hour.)

Yes, 1 hour, 1955. Here are the details.
