House of Frankenstein or Dracula?

Just curious, which of the two "House" movies do you think are better?

Personally, I'm going with Dracula. Did a much better job of balancing all the monsters together.

I like Frankenstein, because Karloff is in it.

I like them both, but a slight edge to Dracula.  Cool seeing the Wolf Man get cured, at least temporarily.

House of Frankenstein is more fun, but the brain-swapping stuff is just plain nuts. House of Dracula seems to be slightly influenced by the more mature Val Lewton approach. Dracula's vampirism is a parasite, Larry's lycanthropy is pressure on his brain. Those "scientific" explanations are more hokum than a supernatural reason for me. It's definitely Carradine's best showing as Dracula.

If I'm going to watch one for pure fun, I'll watch House of Frankenstein. Being a Wolf Man guy it's got some of his last great, atmospheric moments.

House of Frankenstein has the better of the two casts(Karloff, Naish, Anne Gwynne and Elena Verdugo) House Of Dracula has a better storyline, especially regarding Count Dracula, an interesting turn from Onslow Stevens as Edelmann as well as a last hurrah from Lionel Atwill.

I always go back and forth. So I don't think I can really decide. Both are great. (A lot of people are disappointed that the three monsters never meet each other in either of them, but that's not really what the movies are about.)

Speaking of which, I was just thinking about the implications in House of Dracula about how Larry Talbot couldn't handle being the Wolf Man again, not even locked in a prison cell. Like, it implies that beyond killing people, there is just something so horribly wrong about being a werewolf, that it's straight up unbearable.

This is a tough one

I think House of Dracula is probably the better movie.

But I definitely like House of Frankenstein more.

I honestly enjoy both movies, and they make a great double feature. My only gripe with them is that Dracula drinks wine in them. Both Dracula and Dracula's Daughter explicitly stated that vampires don't drink wine, yet John Carradine's Count Dracula does.

Now that is a difficult question to answer. (For me, at least.)

HOD has Onslow Stevens, who simply steals the show, and a pretty strong story, in my opinion.

HOF has Boris Karloff, J. Carrol Naish, and Elena Verdugo, but a weaker story.

I'd probably give the edge to HOD, but either way, they make one terrific double feature!
