Thanksgiving day movies

I remember watching King Kong & March of the Wooden Soldiers (Babes in Toyland) every Thanksgiving on WOR-TV channel 9 in the NY/NJ Metropolitan area around mid 60’s. I read something that said it started in the early 70’s. No frigging way did it start then. I vividly remember it being the 60’s. Anyone else have their own memories of this?
PS: Kong played on what was called the “Million Dollar Movie”, which would show the same movie at least once a day for an entire week.

If memory serves me correctly, they were definitely shown in the 1960's. WPIX would show the March of the Wooden soldiers in the morning and WOR would show King Kong in the afternoon. I think it continued into the early 1970's. I can remember distinctively that WOR on occasion would show a triple feature of King Kong, Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young on Thanksgiving.
