It's a face you've surely seen many times, not only in the 1966 Calendar
but also in monster magazines and public displays >

The three oldest copies I've photographed date back to the 1960s.
One collector got his while a child and never even wore it.
What kid does that?!

Another on the east coast scored his in poor condition and had it restored in
"Calendar crimson". 'Looks like it jumped right off the page >

This Guy owns the original head from "Unimart Monster Daze", 1965.
The Calendar itself didn't even exist back then >

I got my first copy in the 1970s. It was cast thin and flexible, allowing
the DP concept of "second skin animation" its full effect >

Shortly after DPS rehaired it for me, I struck a pose wearing mask plus hands >

The Phantom made a surprise appearance in DP's 1982 catalog, not the identical version
from the '66 Calendar era but close enough for my liking >

I only have one faded portrait of my copy, taken on 110 print film >

These more recent angles, from another collection, show truer color >

By August 1999 the Calendar reissues began rolling out of Post Studios, using masters cast
directly from what remained of their earliest surviving mold >

Today I have two of them, one kept in its display box year round ...

... the other custom finished and used for convention exhibits >

'Had enough of my pics yet? Then let's see yours! The Phantom and I will be watching and waiting ...

I like the way you have him looking to the side! Even more menacing.  :)

One of these days I'll retrieve my DP Phantom from store, rehalled by Dr. Lady

Thank you Sir Masksalot for all the great information and photographs – I recently had this master mold Phantom mask finished by Rob and Cathy Tharp.  They did just an incredible job on him. They are immensely talented artists.  He's even more impressive in person IMHO.   :)
