Watched it today. No major restoration, as you would have guessed. Still plenty of scratches and spots. I usually like a bit of contrast, but they went a little too far. Makes it kind of dark. No heavy handed degraining/denoising. It's a bit jumpy, including the new (I assume) English intertitles, so what's up with that? Mostly sepia. The tints are not overdone. The piano score was well done! No extras.

Hmm, how does it look compared to the Kino/Eureka/BFI Blu-Ray releases?

I don't have either one of those, so I don't know.

OK, there's this site that has screencaps of them. Look similar to the Reel Vault release?: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film5/blu-ray_reviews_69/nosferatu_blu-ray.htm

And guessing you can't do screencaps of the release? (not the disc, but the movie on the release itself)

My computer only plays DVDs, no BD.

Maybe the BFI?

Hmm, does it look like they just put a B&W filter on the BFI or is it just the one most similar to it?

Most similar, I guess.

At this point, what would everyone suggest is the best version to get? I only have cheap, public domain copies.

I own the Kino version and I like it.  When I watched it, I didn't notice the "jerking" that one reviewer mentions.  However, I watched it before reading the review.  Sometimes when you read negative reviews, you start looking for the "bad" when you sit down to watch.

Thanks. I recently bought their Phantom of the Opera Blu-ray and love it, so I'm sure I'll be happy.

Know you just said you got the Kino release, but I would say get the BFI release as well if you're region free.

Mainly because it has James Bernard's score:

Wow, that sounds awesome. I'm not region free, but maybe someday.
