Once again, the Mahoning Drive-In in Lehighton, PA will be highlighting classic monsters in their Universal Monster Mash weekend. Boris Karloff, appropriately, headlines both nights. Most of the main monster franchises are represented, with the Poe-inspired Rue Morgue expanding the Universal Horror brand beyond the monsters (last year, they included The Black Cat).
Friday, August 19
Frankenstein
Dracula’s Daughter
Murders in the Rue Morgue (celebrating the 90th Anniversary)
Saturday, August 20
The Mummy (celebrating the 90th Anniversary)
The Invisible Agent
The Creature Walks Among Us

Did you go both days?
They should do a vintage sci-fi weekend with 50's movies.

I don't know how they paid the licensing fees, film rentals, insurance and other overhead expensive for 6 Universal movies when only 83 people attended? ($10-20 a head.)

When the sun goes down
The monsters come out!
I did do both days. Always a lot of fun. I have no idea what the attendance was, but the lot looked pretty full on both days (although some people didn’t stay for all three movies each night). Others show up with campers and tents to stay the night.
It’s always great running into old friends.
Orlok must have been left over from their Nosferatu 100th anniversary showing earlier in the season.
Plus, there were two posters this year
If I lived an hour closer, I'm sure I'd go to more events. That Philly Friday traffic can be a real pain, but it's worth it once a year for Universal monsters under the stars!
