Bucky O'Hare Vintage 1991 Collegeville

Wow, Bucky O'Hare! Count me among the few Bucky O'Hare fans on this board. I bought a whole bunch of deeply discounted Bucky O'Hare figures at Toys "R" Us in the early 1990's for Salvation Army Xmas kids.

12/30/22 Another big update !!!  :o
(again most these pics are off the ebay ads from where i bought them, too lazy to take new pics for all of these)

So this first one might be my all time favorite vintage costume, its called Spooky Monster by Collegeville from 1973:

its got to be one of the earliest gorey zombie costumes ever & the graphic on the front with the dug up coffin & hooded skull is so damn cool. the problem with this one is the fabric had gotten brittle & was splitting in spots all over the graphic  :'( i really wanted to try to save it, so I bought some Heat n Bond, Iron On Adhesive :

used that on the inside of the costume & it really worked out great!

its much thicker now & i think it will last a long time. If this ever happens to any of my other old fabric costumes i now know how to repair them  >:D

The Bat by Ben Cooper :

Rat Fink by Collegeville 1990 :

Alien 3 Collegeville costume 1992 :

Alien 3 Face Hugger by Collegeville:

Astronaut Planet Patrol Gauze mask with lights & costume by Halco :

Black Cat by Ben Cooper Spotlight Paper mask & Costume 1949 :

Creature from the Black Lagoon Costume by Rubies 1992 :

Devil Ben Cooper Glitter Glow Costume :

Dracula Ben Cooper Play Suit 1975 & Ben Cooper Poncho 1977 :

Frankenstein / Monster by Ben Cooper 1973 :

Frankenstein Gauze mask with lights & costume by Halco :

Garfield Collegeville 1981 :

Hot Wheels by Collegeville 1971 :

Skeleton Cloth Mask & Costume by Collegeville 1957 :

Skeleton by Ben Cooper Gauze mask & Costume :

TMNT Samurai Raphael Collegeville 1992 :

Transformers Optimus Prime Collegeville 1984 :

Viking by Halco :

Witch Glittery Glow in the Dark by Ben Cooper :

Witch Gauze mask & Costume by Ben Cooper :

Werewolf / Wolfman by Collegeville :

Here's some Ben Cooper rack masks that weren't sold with costumes & are painted by air brush instead of the usual silk screen
Frankenstein, mummy, witch, cave man & a skull (the Blue Wolfman is by Super 7) :

last here is some Ben Cooper/Collegeville style masks that Spirit Halloween did that i thought were kinda cool:

thats all for now  chain_saw

That Collegeville was offering a more realistic Catwoman costume by 1992 is also interesting:

Collegeville released an entire Batman: The Animated Series line, and that's the line the pictured Catwoman mask and costume is from. I've never seen one with a Batman Returns box before this photo, and Collegeville did released an on-model, all black with white stitching version of Catwoman from Batman Returns. Perhaps the seller mixed the boxes?

What about the Collegeville Batman and Penguin costumes that Spinal Remains pictured in Batman Returns boxes near the top of this page?

BATMAN RETURNS COLLEGEVILLE

BATMAN RETURNS PENGUIN

Would you say that they're in the right or wrong boxes?

 ???

 ???

Those aren't Batman Returns boxes.

The Penguin is the 1992 Batman Returns mask and costume, but the box doesn't have the branding sticker on it, just like the 1993 Batman: The Animated Series line. It looks as if the copyright line has been markered out, but perhaps that's the COO line or even another mention of flame retardancy, it's unclear.

The Batman is not the Batman Returns version, and also looks to have had a line markered out.

Both do have the Bat logo hologram that was being affixed to official merchandise at the time and the correct character names on the boxes along with the assortment/UPC stickers. Perhaps they're closeouts from later years or there's some other answer we may never know.
