HALLOWEEN 2021
« on: September 17, 2021, 10:41:17 AM »
Forgive me if we already have another thread for this year's Halloween offerings, I couldn't find it.
Here in the Northeast Halloween seems almost to have been killed with bad weather (we had 8" of snow one year, cold rain another) and the pandemic so we dropped from having 200 kids come by down to about 35 and then ZERO last year so I'm hoping this year things come back.
Is it just me or do the stores seem to be lacking Halloween merchandise?   No Spooky Town display at Michaels, the Spirit near me hasn't opened yet and Walgreens and Target were still setting up their seasonal areas.

I feel like normally we're buried in Halloween stuff in August.  Is this the Halloween that wasn't?

It's definitely "late". I think part of that is the supply chain for everything has been effected by the fallout from the pandemic.

The Spirit store closest to me was opened last weekend, but all of the merch wasn't up yet. Our local Walmarts barely had anything up last weekend, but this week our town store had all of their stock out.

Oddly enough the Lowe's/Home Depot type stores seemed to be ahead of everyone else!

Its like that here in PA. Last year I was late to the party mid September. This year Ive been to all my suppliers: Spirit, Home Depot, Lowes, Michaels, At Home, Party City, Christmas Tree, Target...
and its nothing short of a wasteland. Not to worry, I have been able to spend a bunch of that filthy green stuff, but the pickings are very very slim. Now, if your looking for Christmas stuff, then you are in luck my friend, because they are stockpiled and displayed as we speak!
With all my complaining, Im still grateful for what we did get this year, plus all the great stuff we get thoughout the year from DD, 7, Neca & such.

May your shelves be stocked with all the Halloween/Horror goodness you desire, and may your pockets be filled with never ending disposable income!

Yeah... there’s definitely not much in Tennessee right now. I’ve looked at a few stores and haven’t seen squat. The pumpkin patch will probably be the highlight this year for sure.

I started one:  http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=35449.0

But there doesn't seem to be all that much.  I blame COVID concerns and the fact that Halloween is on Sunday.

Our ToT nights have been on Sat. for decades! And (officially) over before dark, too.

No, Lowes seems to have partnered with Disney this year.
Nightmare Before Xmas items, Mickey, etc.  No Uni Monsters so far that I've seen.

Doesn't look like anyone is carrying a full Gemmy line of UM this year, sadly.  Spirit and Party City both have a few items.  Kroger has some stickers.  But that's about it.

Here around Atlanta, the Spirit stores are not fully stocked but I still manage to spend around $100 every time we go in! Highlights SO far have been ,,,,
killer klowns from outer space masks(3) , plush blanket, doormat , coffee mug, lanyard, magnet.
Trick r treat Sam figure with light up pumpkin, Sam sitting on pumpkin light up, journal, travel mug, decal
Haunted Mansion blanket, journal, cups, mugs , blind pack figures, doormat , lanyard, magnet
Universal Monsters blind packs a cool Frankenstein and Devil retro style vacuum form mask, a drinking cups
Also have gotten a decent Plague Dr. mask and a awesome 12$ witch hat.

Lowe’s had some cool Jack and Oogie blow globes and a Haunted Mansion light.
Home Depot has stuff but nothing that I probably get.
Wally World is starting to get stuff up, got a cool stay puff plush Also the Ghostbusters and the Monster Mash cereal
Walgreens is slim pickings
Target has some stuff, did get the new Count Chocula cereal box
Everybody needs to believe in something , I believe I'll have another beer!

There were some small blow molds at Target I was tempted by.  I don't get outdoor stuff because I worry some prick will steal it.
