For slasher movie fans, someone on BoardGameGeek posted instructions and files to turn Horrified into a slasher movie variation called "Terrified": https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2608815/turning-horrified-terrified/page/1

Someone on etsy even created 3d printed game pieces, which you can purchase: https://www.etsy.com/listing/982907935/terrified-board-game-complete-figure?ga_search_query=terrified&ref=shop_items_search_1&frs=1&crt=1

It's a bit of a time and money commitment, but seems like a fun little project. Currently waiting on my game pieces to arrive, so I can battle Jason, Leatherface and Co with friends.

Alright, so let's talk about the new kid on the block.  American Monsters!

Most of the DNA of the game is the same.  The player abilities are reskins from the first game, the deck and perk stuff functions like the first game, but there's a lot of new stuff going on to correspond with the new monsters.  The has a different layout, and the monsters, of which there's only 6 instead of the originals 7 (though Frank and his bride were a duo, so it was technically 6) are VERY different, and fairly complex in a few cases (Jersey Devil changes the landscape of the whole game, which is crazy).

The minis are much chunkier this time around, towering over the older monster figures.

The board has a very neat little map of North America, with some notable locations for this sort of stuff.

I still have to play a few more times to see how I feel about it overall, but it definitely seems harder at the moment.  That might just be the monsters I've gotten, which we've been doing randomly.

The only thing I dislike about this version is that the drawstring bag has been replaced with a plastic one (think reusable grocery bags) and I actively hate the new bag.

Overall?  Pretty neat!  Here's to many games this Halloween season!

I absolutely need Slashers.

The instructions seem a bit daunting.

I'm waiting for some stuff to arrive to put it all together, but if anyone decides to build the slasher version too and needs any help, feel free to shoot me a message! Those 3D printed figures are a little pricey, but you could easily print out your own markers using images of the slashers from Google. I've been able to print almost everything else off (with a little trial and error) at Fedex Office.

It's actually a very simple game.  Try a solo game with the 2 recommended starter monsters (Dracula and Creature from the Black Lagoon).  You will have it figured out in 5 minutes.  The Universal Monsters version is the one to start with, as the monsters in American Monsters are much more elaborate.
