The great Bats in the Belfry cartoon was released by MGM in 1942:



Mattel followed up the cartoon a mere(!) 22 years later with the fabulous game in 1964. Here are some pics I lifted off the net:

I had one of those; sold it 8 or 9 years ago.  They made cool games when we were kids...
