The Invisible Woman (1940)
« on: March 18, 2021, 08:35:15 PM »
Just watched The Invisible Woman (1940) for the first time and absolutely loved it!  I thought it was an entertaining movie with some really funny parts.  The casting of Margaret Hamilton and Shemp Howard were a delightful addition to the film, and John Barrymore played an amusing professor.  Margaret Hamilton is my favorite actress, so her scenes were my absolute favorite.  I have to say, this is my favorite movie of the Invisible Man series...but that may change depending on my mood, lol.

Definitely a fun film.  I had never seen this or INVISIBLE AGENT until the 2004 DVD sets came out.  Both good entries in the series, but my favorites are still the original and RETURNS.

Vincent Price really makes RETURNS my favorite of the Invisible films.

I did like Invisible Woman more than the original.  Now don't get me wrong, the original was a great film.  I just enjoyed this one so much more.  The entire cast was fantastic.  The story was fun, exciting, and sexy.  At the time, the film was provocative because it was suggested that she was nude when invisible.  Definitely tame by today's standards, but racy for the time.
