I have a mint (no cracks or scuffs) 1963 Standard Plastic Products Universal Monster's Wallet along with all four cards that came with it. I believe that this is a rarer version without the Magic Slate (from what I can see on-line). Instead this has the "Look See A Monster" on the inside....
...and while the mirror was in the wallet it is not stuck to that area (not sure if it ever was).
I also found a 1965 Monsters of Filmland magazine this weekend that happened to have the advertising for the Wallets and the Vacuform pictures on the back cover. This reminded me that I had one of these wallets. Would love some additional information on the Wallet as I have only seen a version with a Magic Slate in the wallet when looking on line.
I believe the two variants of the wallet are about equally common.
They have an unfortunate tendency to degrade and "silver" over the years.
I see an address on Barton Street East on one of the cards. Do you live in Hamilton?
Thanks for all the information. I stumbled on this piece at a flea market and took a chance as the price was right. I'm a vintage hot wheel collector, but I think I may have found my next outlet!!
Value is always a good thing. I paid $10 for it at the market. There is one guy there who always has great stuff and you never know what will be there. I just saw a Dracula / Mummy wallet sell in ebay (magic slate type, but missing the slate) for $415US. Gotta love the internet and people who don't care to use it. Thanks again for all of the information.
But local where?
