Always interesting to see what contemporary critics thought of the old monster movies.

I like how the Frankenstein review mentions the soon to be coming out films "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and "Freaks".
Also, worth noting is that they say the book Frankenstein goes back to 1831.
Ok, so actually, it goes back to 1818. The third and final revised edition of the book came out in 1831, though, and that's the version most people read.

I didn't realize the movie came out on the book's anniversary, even if it was the revised edition's anniversary.
