Monster Candy Lollipops from 1980s
« on: September 24, 2020, 09:44:38 PM »
                          Hi All :)

Does anyone have any photos or remember Monster Candy Lollipops from 1980s?

I do not recall what they looked like, but there were from all of the monsters.

I believe Frankenstein was green.

We used to get these in the 1980s, but I still have not found a photo of these.

Thank you All :)

Welcome to the UMA, monster_mash_88!  :)

I don't remember the '80s lollypops. There was some a couple of years ago.

I tried finding images of the Monster Candy Lollipops. Unfortunately,  nothing.

Ok.

Thank you both :)

They came in a bag of various flavours for one for each monster.

Were these Universal Monsters, or generic Franks, vampires, werewolves, etc.?

Regular hard candy lollypops?

Were the Frankenstein ones green with white "candy paint" for the face?  I remember them.

Yes, white candy paint I believe.

Possibly black paint.

The candy was cream color not clear.

They were in a big bag.

They were the actual Universal Monsters. No generic.

Hmmm...  The ones I'm thinking of were glossy and unlicensed.  I have no recollection of official Universal Monsters lollipops, but they may have predated me.  I remember the Universal Monsters Three Musketeers from the early-mid '90s and the candy cigarettes that were produced from the '60s on.  Other than that, I don't recall any other officially licensed candy.  However, I would very much like to see these or hear more about them.  I recall the type of lollipop you describe: cream color.  For some reason, the Phantom of the Opera in pink pops into my head.  But I have no idea why.  Could just be my imagination going wild.  So, come on people!  Bring on the info and let's find some pictures!  :D

Well....when did these come out?  *EDIT* Apparently these were a 2018 release.  Probably not what you were looking for but it's the first image I found and I sure don't recall any discussion here about these licensed lollies.

Sculpted by the same fellow who sculpted the S7 Soapiez and a number of their ReAction figures (but not the UM ReActions).

When were those released?

Marsattacks666, if you're asking about the My Idolpops, they were first released in 2012. I don't konw how long they ran, but I believe they are discontinued now.

I'm completely unfamiliar with the licensed lollis monster_mash_88 is describing and following with interest.

They do seem to have slipped thru the cracks!
