What a screwy Labor Day this year.

Some states are experiencing all-time record heat spells, and others are getting their first snows of the year.


Can't remember any previous Labor Day when there were so many people wishing they could go BACK to work!

Our unusual weather today, is rain. We haven't been getting much, lately.

Today I felled 5 trees with a chainsaw and donated the wood. Then pruned the trees in my front yard. I had one gigantic tree that would've took at least two-three days to rid myself of. A stranger approached me and the missus and asked "what are you guys doing?" We told him we were clearing the area, due to some recent crime related issues occurring in the wooded area behind our home, and we hoped we weren't disturbing him. He said "My name's Bob, how much you still want cleared?" I showed him the massive tree. He said, move your gear and hang tight and showed up in less than 5 minutes with one of these and really helped us out. Didn't ask for a dime. Turns out he owns a construction and excavation service and came by his place, which is directly in back of our place to get this piece of equipment. He saw us working and wanted to be neighborly. It was a godsend. That was my Labor Day 2020. I am sore and feeling my 50 years,lol.

So, how does a Bobcat help you take down trees?

He used the forks that haul earth and ripped the thing right out of the ground. Then ran over it with the tread tires. His was bigger, this is just a comparable model, not exact though. He smooshed it then shoveled it up and chucked it in his industrial dumpster back behind his storage facility. It was pretty amazing to watch. keep in mind, all I had was a dinky little chainsaw that Leatherface would've laughed at,lol.  The tree was growing wild and at a sloped angle, so he was able to make extremely lite work of it. I felt like I was watching a monster truck rally,lol.
