I'm in the same boat you're in, Adam. Yes, I do feel some guilt.

I was lucky enough to have retired at the end of February, so my situation is ok right now. I feel for everyone else who is getting hit really hard over this. Sending best thoughts, wishes and prayers for all. I am grateful for our board and community of monster lovers here.

Yeah, no hardships here. I can't imagine the stores running completely of everything edible. I can just drive up to WM and they will stuff food in my trunk.

The Government is just going to have to step up and take care of people who have been put out of a job!

I just lost one of my part time jobs. My regular job is now reaching info the "iffy" zone, and my wife's job is starting to feel the effects. So, it sucks.

Went to the store last night to pick up a prescription.  The shelves were empty.  The meat department was empty.  There was NOTHING except for some bread they were putting out (Thank goodness!), cookies, chips, and soda (and some dairy).  Everything else was gone.  Never seen anything like it.  Once this starts hitting areas with factories and such harder, I can imagine this will be a running theme throughout the country over the next 18 months.

They are already talking about not having enough workers to harvest crops, process the resulting food, etc.  Looks like there might me a lot of waste in the fields.

There is also talk about gasoline going to an average of $1.50 a gallon - maybe as low as .99 in a handful of stations.  Too bad nobody can go anywhere.

When I say "talk", I mean mainstream Internet articles from major newspapers with reporter bylines - not unidentified sources.

Iceland has instituted a 100% Testing Policy.  They are testing everyone, whether or not they show symptoms.

They have made a rather interesting discovery:  Fully 50% of all the a-symptomatic people they tested have proven POSITIVE for exposure to the COVID-19 Virus.

Don't assume that people without fevers and coughing are safe to be around.  Maintaining as much distance as possible makes sense.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Gov. of CA says they expect 50% of residents will get the virus! Now that's scary!

More.  He expects 25 million of the 40 million that live here.

How do I know it's serious?  Most of the casinos in Las Vegas are already shut down.  That's gotta look spooky.

What a time to be sneaking shots of all the empty streets for a cheapie sci-fi movie.

Los Angeles here... I was able to snag several days' worth of food, but the toilet paper and tissue shortages are re-damned-diculous! I really, really hate hoarders!!

Even Amazon is all out. My work is cool with accepting personal packages, but we just got shuttered. And I fear home delivery will only encourage porch piracy. There's a Target near me so I might try my luck there hyper early in the morning one of these upcoming days.

Scary stuff. Good luck to us all!

Speaking of crumpled up newspaper I had to use just that as toilet paper for about 8 weeks once when I lived in another part of the world. Rub it together vigorously for a bit and it gets quite soft. Don't try flushing it though - the sewer backup will cause bigger issues than the lack of toilet paper...
