One New Year's Day, I'll take down the tree and put away the few decorations I keep - not many. A few years ago, I tossed my tree, still fully decorated. I did not have one for 5 or 6 years, I forget which. For some reason I wanted one this year. It wasn't much, small and imitation. The cheap plastic ornaments were bought online from Big Lots. Looked OK beside my permanent A Christmas Story Leg Lamp from outside the window. Haven't decided if I'll keep the tree for next year. There's room to stand it up in the garage 'til then.May the next 366 days be a year you look back on with warm nostalgia at the close of next twelvemonth.
I took down the tree.
I usually take mine down around January 6 or 7. I like the lights on in my living room, especially when watching tv or reading.

Initially he was limiting himself to taking down a decoration or three from the lower branches. In the past four mornings though The WOMAN has discovered him within the branches of the tree nestled up against the trunk from where he then defends his position! Meanwhile hundreds more of the fake needles are ending up on the floor each night and a few of the lowest branches are almost bare. We may have to take down the tree next week which will be earlier than we usually do.
