I switched computers a while ago and all my old log-ins were in the old computer, but I should be here more regularly now. It's easy to accidentally get out of the habit of frequenting a BBS.

By the way, this August my Therin of Andor persona (in my avatar) turns 40 years old!

I feel the same way.  I didn't post for a while, next thing I know it was a few years, lol
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity...

Thanks for the tip. I've now sent out a few emails.

I'm actually particularly concerned about skully given his age. If anyone can confirm that he's well, I'd appreciate it. I believe he lives in the vicinity of King of Prussia or Reading, Pennsylvania.

Good news! Skully is alive and well and reading this board everyday! He's just been having severe problems logging in. I've suggested he try doing so through a different browser.

Wondering where Memphremagog is. He last post was a month ago. That seems unusual, because he posts nearly every day. Hope all is well.

Me, too.

Thanks Mike. Hopefully,  maybe it's just an internet or computer problem.

People need to leave instructions in their wills, or with a family member, to contact their favorite internet haunts about their deaths (or a serious illness), if they wish people to know why they dropped off the Earth. I've left something in my papers that won't be hard to find. Include your passwords!

Im doing this, although I only "frequent" less than a handfull of places. Ive also putting EXP,ICIT instructions that my collection not be sold off after my death. Its to be dontaed to someone or someplace or destroyed. Im not allowing my death to create a feeding frenzy.  Ive seen far too many collectors pass who's stuff is just sold off while the person is totally forgotten.

"Destroyed" is an outrageously bad idea! Why would you countenance even the thought of such outright vandalism, whether dead or alive? You seem so determined that nobody profit from your collection that you're fine with the concept that your items no longer even exist for others to enjoy.

If you go before I do, send me all your stuff and I'll divide it up with all our UMA brothers!  :)

That would perhaps be the most decent option that would conform to Dr.Terror's stated desires.

So I just received an email from Horrorhunter. He too is having log-in problems because the UMA site is in some way not secure:

Quote from: horrorhunterI still check UMA but since I switched browsers to Chrome it doesn't let me post there (it identifies UMA as not being secure).

Horrorhunter uses McAfee for virus protection. Just like Skully he's able to read the posts but he's prevented from logging in as a member.

I get "insecure" messages myself warning me that my log-in info could be compromised to which my response is "So what?" I use BitDefender for virus protection.

Skully has asked me to pass along his email address to any member who would like to correspond with him. Just send me a PM if you do.
