Need help identifying a film

Someone I know has been desperately searching for this film since he was a child.  He grew up in the 1980's in Syracuse, NY and used to watch MONSTER MOVIE MATINEE on the weekends.  As you may or may not already be aware of, Monster Movie Matinee mainly broadcast Universal horror films.  In the film he's looking for, he remembers it being shot in back and white, most likely from the 1960's, where a woman is in a mansion and descending a large spiral staircase, when all of the sudden she hears a voice clamor, "LEAVE WHILE YOU STILL CAN!..."

Thank you for all of your suggestions but I think I'm just going to give up looking for him.  He's being a bit unreasonable now, because when I try to give him your suggestions, he says, "Well, I'd have to watch the film in order to know if that scene is in there."  I mean, if you want something, you gotta work a bit for it, am I right?  lol   Anyway, thank you all for your help, but unless someone can say, "Yes, that scene is from film so-and-so," then he's really not interested in any suggestions.  Even though he may not appreciate your help, I do, so thank you!

I forgot to say "Welcome to the UMA, KMD!" 

It's probably THE HAUNTING, but I don't remember every line of dialog and it has been a few years since I've seen it and I don't have the DVD. Tell your friend that THE HAUNTING is an excellent movie and he (probably) won't regret watching it, even if it is the wrong one.
