Universal Monster Themed Pomade
« on: October 16, 2019, 08:28:22 AM »
For those of you who use product to style your hair...

There's a company called Suavecito that often does limited edition collaborations with their products and this year they are doing officially licensed Universal Monster items.

The monsters represented will be:
Dracula (original hold pomade)
Frankenstein (original hold pomade)
The Mummy (strong "firme" hold pomade)
Creature (matte pomade)
Wolf Man (beard oil)

It doesn't look to be anything other than a package redesign though, as there is no word on whether the products will have unique scents. They will be available this Friday (10/18).

If it's licensed, I suppose I'll get a Creature. Seems to be using poster art for decoration. Not very imaginative.

Apparently you have to buy all four. Reg. price $65.00. Special price $39.99.

Different photo on their site. A generic Dracula repaint.

The presale is for the set for pick up at the launch party. I'm pretty sure on the 18th you can get them individually for shipping.

I might go 10 bucks for one, but they're pretty uninspiring.

Agreed. Thatís the brand I use, but if itís just a repackage of their standard stuff then those designs arenít enough to get me to shell out the dough.

Considering I have always hated that particular piece of Lugosi artwork, I am more than okay with this change.  It's actually an improvement, looking more like Dracula than that old Lugosi art.  I don't understand why Universal still uses that poster.  It's so bad.

I was never a big fan of floating head posters. Same goes for the WM one sheet. The Dracula '47 reissue poster is better.

Totally agree on the re-release posters.  Why Universal keeps these floating head posters in their rotation is beyond me.  Not a single one of them is nice looking.  Frankenstein is the best, and that's not saying much.

....and one wonders why the garage kit hobby seems to be "where it's at" with regards to the monsters.  ::) ::)

You can use whatever you want, as long as it's not Fop.

I just noticed they also have an Invisible Man folding comb as well as an Invisible Man Beard comb if that's your flavor:
