Looks just like the Addams family "Thing" bank, but when you put the coin in, the hand takes it and throws the coin back at you.
I'd pay up for it if works and has the box. From 1968.

The Useless Box is very similar to Don Poynter's "Little Black Box" he came out with in 1959. Same "Thing" box  but with the switch.  Move the switch,and the box rocked back and forth..then the hand came out, moved the switch to the off position , the hand retreated and it turned off. It's the one that morphed into "The Thing" in 1964.

I got lucky and found one on E-Bay. It didn't come with a box, so I'm still looking.

Success..! A guy responded to my ad that he had a mint one with the box he'd sell me. Got it today and it not only had the box but both cardboard inserts, the instruction sheet, and the spacer.
