They featured cartoony generic monsters and look pretty cool.

Thanks! I didn't think there were any 7-Eleven Universal monsters cups.

Back in the early 1980s I scored this "snake man" mask >

For years I believed it was a movie mold casting of a make-up from 1973's Sssssss >

Some now say it's actually a prototype of a Post Studios mask that never got released >

An unlicensed version eventually did appear in the DPS catalog >

The fangs were added on, either to forestall any copyright challenges from the producers of
Sssssss or simply to heighten its scare factor >

Continued) I don't recall what mine cost back then but it was a 900 line mask so must've been
upwards of thirty dollars. 'Creepy cool character, I liked it >

It's a fun mask, but it should have green highlights on the boils and oozing sores for the chlorophyll poisoning. For TOTS prices though it's pretty cool.

I'm a huge Blood Island fan, having seen Brides Of Blood and Mad Doctor Of Blood Island on Shock Theater (Chattanooga) back in the '70s, uncut;D  Of course the Beast Of Blood or Chlorophyll Monster looked a little different in the movie Beast Of Blood than he did in Mad Doctor Of Blood Island, and it was a totally different monster in Brides, but it's all part of the Blood Island Trilogy. No direct continuity between Brides and Mad Doctor (except for Hemisphere Pictures, John Ashley, and the Island). But Beast is a true sequel to Mad Doctor storywise.

My TOTS Beast Of Blood and Fulci Zombie:

I like the TOTS Zombie mask. But the Bump in the Night/Zombie mask looks much better.

Great looking masks and I see you're using the wig stands for them, cool.

Yeah, those wig stands are working very well. My big Christmas present to myself is a TOTS order for five masks and a Creature mini bust, and that stuff is supposed to ship around Dec. 15th. I already have the 5 empty stands assembled and awaiting the TOTS goodness to come.  ;D

I haven't checked out the Bump In The Night Zombie. How much does it sell for?

I cannot remember.  I purchased the B.I.T.N. mask,  years ago. The company is out-of-business.

Here is one on EBAY. Missing the rubber worms.

Collection Corner #81

2018 Zagone Studios "Sentinel"

It's a good scary face, one of my favorites from the early BeSomethingStudios line.
Why did they try to pass it off as an alien, though? It always struck me as more of a
Gothic demon. Anyhow, thanks for the fun review, jupiter2.

jupiter2

Good question! I don't really see the "alien" aspect to it either, but that's what they say!

"Full Latex Mask of a tan alien creature or monster with pointy teeth.
The Original Sentinel sculpted by BYBY A Be Something Studios original circa 1979. This beauty is a brown finish to the classic look."

Here's my latest score, MR SPOCK as depicted in 1979's Star Trek ~ The Motion Picture >

I believe this licensed series of masks was only available for one year from Post Studios >

The forty-year-old latex was pretty flimsy so I reinforced it from the inside with insulation tape.
It seems to work well for this purpose with one side really sticky, the other a bendable foil.
There's a layer of foam in-between so it's like a poor man's foam-fill but stiff enough to smooth
out any ripples in the rubber.

It's the last mask I really wanted for my small but select Star Trek collection.
