Voo Doo Woman 1957, Paul Blaisdell
« on: August 22, 2019, 01:37:12 PM »
OK, so I just learned this movie existed. I love Paul Blaisdell's Monsters. I love most b monsters. Primarily because they remind me of the stuff we made up as kids. Here's my question: is this film on legitimate dvd release? oris it trapped in the same limbo as Invasion of the Saucer men, Teenage Frankenstein and Teenage Werewolf, and many others?

It appears it has most of the cast from She Creature, which is a fave of mine.

Voodoo Woman was released on DVD (R2) in the UK as part of the "Arkoff Film Library" series. These are the titles that Arkoff got when AIP was sold off.

R1 and R2:
Day the World Ended
The She-Creature
How to Make a Monster
The Blood of Dracula
The Spider
War of the Colossal Beast
Viking Women and the Sea Serpent
Teenage Caveman

R2 only:
The Brain Eaters
The Undead
Voodoo Woman
Reform School Girl

I checked out amazon UK and they have some copies of "Voodoo Woman" from others sellers. Not sure if they ship to the US?

One guy wants 45 for a used copy. A couple others want 100 pounds for a new copy.

The good news . . . I got a new copy of "The Undead" for $10 shipped!  :)

I found a "gray market" dv-r. $10. Probably a vhs port/ transfer. Unfortunately this is how I have Teenage Werewolf, Teenage Frankenstein, It Conquered the World, and Invasion of the Saucer men as well. Better than nothing.

Did you get my set? It is better than nothing.

Don't know why Suzi won't let go of her titles? Sam was smart! He got some bucks out of his before he died.

I added a couple of titles to those R1/R2 sets that I forgot about. "Viking Women" and "Teenage Caveman".

Who licensed those great Billiken AIP kits?

I had the vhs versions and just had them transferred by a friend.

Hmmm? Good question! Who licenses any AIP monster kits? Most "garage" kit producers don't bother with such things. I suppose AMC paid somebody for those Blaisdell "MonsterVision" statues they made.

The Billiken AIP kits were supposedly licensed. They released them in the U.S. and were advertised in horror mags (circa '88). The Mosterfest stuff was AMC, though I have no idea how they get credit for the films.
