The Gauntlet-1977

Badass Eastwood film!  I saw it in its theatrical release (and many times since).

 Strangers on a Train (1951) -

I wanted to get my girlfriend into Hitchcock, and figured this would be a good intro. She loved it. There's nothing like rediscovering a classic with someone who has never seen it. The carousel finale had her on the edge of her seat.

Ooo! Ooo! What next!? Psycho? Vertigo? N/NW? Or, maybe and oldie oldie, like The 39 Steps, or Shadow of a Doubt?

I'm leaning "Vertigo". "North by Northwest" will be the encore. It just hit me that Kanje West's son is named North West. I won't let that deter me. Btw, Mike, have you read "The Dark Side of Genius" by Donald Spoto? It's my favorite bio on any celeb. Lots of disturbing details on old Hitch. He would not have survived the whole #ME TOO movement.

Can't go wrong there!  :)

Nope, just Spoto's "The Art of AH".

No monsters. Sort of a sci-fi.

THE NAME OF THE GAME - LA 2017

I always wanted to see this early Spielberg TV episode/TV movie. Gene Barry plays his usual TNOTG character, this time transported into a ecologically doomed dystopian future. It's a reverse "Metropolis", with the elite living in comfort, underground, while the workers live on the polluted surface. A lot of environmental and totalitarian society talk before Barry escapes to the present. (Or, was it all a carbon monoxide induced dream?)

Not bad. I'm sure I would have liked it better in '71. Probably the only early Spielberg TV thing that I hadn't seen.
