That's one seriously great flick. I had no idea Crane was so out there. Dafoe was incredible, as usjal.

Key Largo, 1948 - Gangsters take over an isolated Florida Keys hotel during a hurricane.

Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Lionel Barrymore, Edward G. Robinson and Claire Trevor.

I felt like watching this one out here on the west coast, since Dorian was such a disappointment to me on the east coast.  I so wanted to hear that it had sat on top of bedbug central, Mar a Lago for a couple days before moving back out to sea.

Just as well, I suppose.  All the illegal aliens employed there would have lost their jobs and been deported as "undesirables".

(OK, I'll stop now.)

Tell it, brother! Btw, "Key Largo" is one great thriller. I've always been a big Bogie fan ("The Big Sleep" and "Dark Passage" are personal faves, too).

Great movie (dir. by John Huston)! Great cast! Wasn't Thomas Gomez one of the gangsters?

Sure was.    Also, Jay Silverheels was one of the brothers who were being hunted.

I just didn't go that deep into the cast.

To Have and Have Not, 1944 - It's World War II.  A small charter fishing boat owner helps a French Resistance leader and his wife flee Martinique while whistling up a romance with a young singer.

Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Sheldon Leonard, Walter Brennan and Hoagy Carmichael.

Bacall's first picture.  Man, she looked good!

Hard to watch a Bogart/Bacall movie without wanting to watch another.
