There was some mighty incredible cover art for those old pulp magazines and books of the bygone era. From the really lurid "women in peril" stuff to monsters from another world and crime stories, the artwork supplied for these things was simply out of this world. Like the poster art of film eras gone by, they dont make them like this anymore. They certainly would not pass the PC culture of today, and this is like looking into another world at times..

If you have a favorite example of this type of cover, please feel free to post it here!  :)

A few examples:

Incidentally, who was the artist on those Adam covers?

The artist may have been Bill Edwards. Check this site out:

I have a 2" book shelf brimmed with pulp mags, mostly reprints and pulp/sleaze PB's. For me it is mostly about the great cover art. I have read a few and some of the stories are dreadfully written. Can't go wrong with Weird Menace tho. Hugh B. Cave,Wayne Rogers, Wyatt Blassingame, just to name a few.
