Anyone know when Super 7 is finally gonna give us the Soaky-styled bottles/figures that they dangled before us so l-o-n-g ago?

Should be mid-summer (hopefully around or before Comic Con). There is likely to be a Universal Monster specific Super 7 event again at Comic Con this year (like the Boodega last year) so look for it around that time. But it would be awesome if they were ready to fly before that. If for some insane reason they aren't released by then (I would be shocked) don't panic.

Interesting.  I wasn't thinking in terms of personal conflicts.

As for this particular thread, I thought darmonkeygod was referring to the automatic, and sometimes overwhelming, negative reaction ne toys get from collectors for not being "perfect" examples of what they want.

There is an on-going debate about supporting what I consider inferior product.  Some think we should support new product as much as we can, for fear of all new product drying up - some before it is even produced.  Others think that buying poorly done items only encourages more of the same.  As with most arguments, there is probably a grain of truth to both sides.

I kinda thought darkmonkeygod was reacting to all the negative comments about Mego's "new" line of variations.

Personally, I think the Werewolf's head looks like a dust bunny with eyes.  (How's that for negative?)

I thought the flocked Werewolf was an interesting idea for a Mego. I can't tell well enough from the packaged version to have an opinion quite yet.  I've always thought a well done hairy (actual hair) Mego Wolfman would look good but maybe it would look like the Cowardly Lion instead? I don't know, and I don't know enough about Mego's to know if adding hair is some type of transgression to the honor of vintage Mego's.

The most disturbing thing to me is the lack of humour here. We've become like the easily-offended millennials. Adam posted info on the new Megos. He jokingly inferred that they weren't that great. I am very "like-minded" in that I agree. I did love their Dracula figure. The rest (minus Nosferatu) are not that good. No malice, just an opinion.

I get it. I just caution against inundating manufacturers with nastygrams about a perceived inferior product falling within your sphere of interest (in the case of UMA, monsters). I say that because manufacturers pay attention to feedback and utilize it in making decisions on where to expend capital. They rarely get positive feedback from consumers about anything (even if that thing is objectively and universally decreed awesome (Mego Dracula and Nosferatu). They do often get inundated with negative feedback and that sometimes leads them to the generalization that that entire genre isn't worth pursuing and they certainly shouldn't consider venturing further into that genre.

If you do have a concern about a particular product I strongly encourage you to provide constructive feedback. Example:

As opposed to: "These Mego's suck! Why even make them if they're going to suck?"

Maybe opine something like: "I love that you're producing classic monster figures. The Dracula and Nosferatu figures are amazing. It would be great if [insert respectful request for better product here]. I hope to see more in the future!"

Except for Drac and Nosferatu, I don't like these figures - even the one Frank that I did buy - just for the cheap variation and ugly card.

I posted these here because I think there may be a few members looking forward to getting them.  More power to those members.  Enjoy.

But, I have no qualms about being negative about the figures.  I tone it down a bit out of consideration for any fans reading this.  They don't need to hear it.

Screw the manufacturers.  I hope they do get an earful about what collectors think of what they make if they are going to charge collectible prices.  If they are going to make cheap toys for kids to play with, let the kids be the judge.

I just don't know many little kids that want a Tootie doll or the gal who played the maid in an old sitcom that they probably never saw.

I don't write to manufacturers to complain.  I just blow off steam with my fellow monster enthusiasts.  If toy manufacturers want to listen in, let them be prepared to hear honest opinions.  It might benefit them as well as us in the long run.

I look forward to get other members' honest opinions.  Even you chucke-heads who get everything wrong.  (You know who you are.)

I must confess that the first Lugosi Dracula and Nosferatu are all I purchased. Those two were nice. I haven't been motivated for anything else Mego has offered, Monsters or otherwise. But I don't do variants of anything.

I, for one, would like to

1. Find any examples of these figures of any Wave in my area.

and

2. Be able to afford to purchase one or more of them. Living on a fixed income makes choices like this difficult.

You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred.

Mego is honestly trying to make-up that blunder of not obtaining that Star Wars license. Hey-yo!🤣🚽🧻

Is that legit?  Did you, or anyone else, alter the Mego catalog picture?

It's their Romulan head, cast in glow in the dark, with black paint facial hair and scalp hair details added. They did something similar with their Invisible Man.  They are offering a Kirk and Spock with tribbles in the package. The tribbles being the only real difference.

I am sorry, but I think this is something akin to a last gasp that companies do to drum up business if they don't wish to invest in new sculpts or if they are just really, really, really into offering variants for the OCD crowd. There is also a Gorn with glow features. Why? Who knows. He certainly didn't glow in the episode.

I realize my opinion seems negative, but I am not going to pretend I will be buying something, and just keep my mouth shut  if there is room for improvement. I am not sure what one is supposed to make of these. Werewolf looks like a chia pet.

No wonder they wanted to get pre-orders in before they released pictures.  I wonder how many of those pre-orders will now be cancelled?

This one I'm buyin'! Nobody will ever believe this Coffin Joe Dracula variant ever existed without proof. This is pathetic. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but this is pure crap.
