Return of the Wolf Man
« on: March 22, 2019, 09:56:16 AM »
Hello Everyone!

This is my first post, and i wanted to start it off by introducing a little gem for those that don't know about it. I recently tracked down a copy of "Return of the Wolf Man" from 1998. It's a Novel that literally picks off where Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein leaves off. It has numerous Easter eggs throughout and ties up some loose ends throughout the Monsterverse. The book is OOP, but if you get a chance to read it, it is phenomenal.  It's been years since I've been so interested in a book!

I really enjoyed it too! I had a pdf copy that another UMA sent me, but I lost it when I changed tablets😥. I thought it was an inventive way to tie up loose plot ends and move the monsters forward. Maybe some of the Universal revival directors ought to have a look?

I bought this book when it first came out and couldn't put it down.  It is excellent.  I wish they didn't change authors for the sequels.  I was looking forward to the next book, considering how this one ended, not giving away spoilers.

I was just asking about this book in the Memorabilia section. If anyone knows how I could get a copy of it or a PDF copy, let me know.

I had never heard of this book until I saw this thread. Then I went to Amazon Marketplace and picked up a good used copy for about $20. That was just a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, I lucked out, because, looking now, the cheapest used copy listed is going for more than twice that much!

When I started reading it and saw how closely it follows upon Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, I went back and watched that movie again before continuing with the book. I've really just started the book, but I am enjoying it so far.

I read it when it came and loved it! My memory of it is just as if I watched it as a movie.

Anyone know of a place to read it online. I've attempted to find a used copy but everywhere I look it's insanely overpriced
I must insist upon one thing. Under no circumstances are you to go out onto the moors at night.

I bought it when it first came out, and then had an extra copy sent to me for review. Both copies are in storage, at present. It was quite a thrilling read, and also celebrated the 50th anniversary of A&CMF. The followup novels, "The Devil's Brood" and "The Devil's Night," were sadly just awful.

I can say this is an honesty: this book is the only worthy successor I have read to the Universal Monsters films. It should either be filmed, or presented as a  CGI feature in toto. With nothing altered.
