TV Terrors Distinctive Dummies: what do you want to see?
« on: January 23, 2019, 03:27:44 PM »
M has told me a few ideas.  I have to say, the inaugural figure (Don't Be Afraid of the Dark) is one of my favorite DD releases. I really like the boxed design, the character choice, the insert...just everything about it. So, I was wondering....what TV Terrors exist that I don't know of. These were my brainstorming session with M, but what else is out there that you think would make a good figure? Here are my choices:

RICHARD LYNCH VAMPIRE, 1979:

NORLISS TAPES MONSTERS:

TRILOGY OF TERROR (MORE OR LESS ALREADY CONFIRMED):

ROD SERLING TWILIGHT ZONE:

DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW:

I would also love to see these two guys, but dunno how they could be done, as they are fairly intricate:

"Nine Killed you---Nine shall Die!"

The monster from The Norliss Tapes is a great idea, but not without David Norliss. Some more night stalker monsters, say the zombie, werewolf and sentry would be great. I STILL believe dark shadows would be huge, Barnabas, Quentin, professor Stokes, Potffie.

The Twilight Zone offers up many possibilities. Personally, I'd like to see the wax figures that formed murderers row from the episode, The New Exhibit.

I agree wholeheartedly, Richard.  A fantastic launch of TV Terrors with Donít Be Afraid of the Dark.  Here is my top ten list I would love to see DD tackle.

1) Possessed Karen Black/Zuni Fetish doll from Trilogy of Terror (1975)
2) Gargoyles (1972)
3) Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981)
4) Other vampires from Salemís Lot (1979)
5) Other monsters from Norliss Tapes (1973)
6) Other monsters from Kolchak: The Night Stalker (1963)
7) Jack Palance/The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1968)
8) Vincent Price as Count Sforza/F-Troop (1967)
9) Lizardís Leg & Owletís Wing monsters/Route 66 (1962)
10) The Possessed (1977) or Frankenstein: The True Story (1973)

I'll add to the chorus of Kolchak monsters: the Rakshasa, the Spanish Moss Murders boogieman, the zombie, the succubus from Demon in Lace, Mr. Ring... As a kid I'd have loved to have these.

3 Yesses (and my top 3, nonetheless!), and 3 Maybes...I'LL TAKE IT!!!  The Route 66 episode features an older and heavier versions of Karloff, Chaney Jr. and Peter Lorre.]
