Terrifier

If you like sick clown films. I highly recommend Terrifier. The story is about a homicidal clown and takes place on Halloween night. It has a creepy vibe to it and over the top gore.

I really enjoyed this film. Definitely an aesthetic throw-back to 80s Horror films. Plus, Art the Clown is absolutely creepy.

The ending with the girl was too much for me. It actually repulsed~~ and did, in fact, terrify me. I started a thread about this awhile back, but asked the mods to delete it. I was going to recommend it as truly scary, but it was too demented for me to stomach. The ending of the story with the girl was so unsettling it bothered me more than Texas Chainsaw Massacre in it's entirety. Different things affect people differently. This is one I probably will not watch again. Just goes to show that no mater how much you think you are used to this stuff....someone always can still shock. In that it succeeds.

The Terrifier film is beyond disturbing and brutal.
The average Horror fan probably won't enjoy the film. However, that is what makes this film so special. In my opinion Horror cinema is too safe, and a film like Terrifier needed to be produced. >:D

Maybe that's one of the reasons I wasn't a fan of this film. It was made well for the budget, and it WAS brutal, but I prefer my horror to be "fun." Terrifier felt like it could have been real, and I find it hard to glean cinematic enjoyment from the overt and excessive brutality that can be inflicted upon the human body.

I came away from the movie impressed with how thoroughly it was able to repulse me, but it's not something I'd want to experience again.

Upon seeing Art, I had initially passed on this one but after reading this thread I had to check it out.  Although the f/x are better it really isn't anything more than your average late 60's/early 70's grindhouse fare.  I didn't find any one murder or act of violence anymore sadistic than the other and again, no more so than any other film of the same ilk.  Still think Art is a rather lackluster-goofy looking  reaction but I did enjoy the film overall.

Art the clown was also in an anthology All Hallows Eve.  When it comes to graphic blood and guts, I have no problem with Zombies getting blown up or werewolves tearing up victims. There is just something about Sadistic human on human torture and excessive gore that just turns me off. To each there own though. Nobody is twisting my to put in or continue watching those sort of films.

To be clear, this was the Terrifier thing I saw. It was the short that came out several years ago, that was used in this flick. I haven't seen the Netflix thing, and only just learned it existed.

OK,so be clear you saw Art in Hallows Eve? Terrifier is so much more twisted. Tho if you can deal with Hostel,Saw and some of the Wrong Turn movies you should be ok.

I am not gonna watch it :-X :-[. If the short distressed me, I can only imagine what the full feature offers. The All Hallows Eve thing (featuring the original short) is what I saw. It was just too much. So if the Netflix thing is even worse: easiest pass ever. Wrong Turn? The only one worth viewing is the first one: it was too much for me. I do NOT watch Hostel.
