So this is weird:

https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3528412/lebron-james-friday-the-13th-reboot/

LeBron James producing a Friday the 13th remake? My severe dislike of the guy aside, I think that would be horrible.

I'm also really confused. How can they be hosting talks like this when the franchise is still entangled in legal issues? As far as I know, no such reboot has been announced. Which side wants to make the film, Miller or Cunningham? This article is missing a lot of information.

I don't follow basketball so I don't have anything against LeBron, but it is quite the surprise. While that certainly grabs headlines, I think it's of particular interest that Vertigo Entertainment is also behind this effort. They're the folks who helped bring It: Chapter One to theaters last year.

It's also worth noting that Warner Bros and New Line would also be involved, since New Line still owns international distribution rights.

As for who's behind this between the two bickering parties, this one is actually courtesy Victor Miller.

I imagine they're probably looking for screenwriters and directors at the moment, but I wouldn't expect any major news on this for a little while. Sean Cunningham is still trying to appeal the case, which could tie things up.

The missing hockey mask is not a problem with me. My favorite Friday the 13th film is Part 2. I thought the one-eyed potato sack was creepy as hell.

Definitely creepy. Part-2, 3 and 5 are my faves of the Franchise.

Since the Hockey Mask showed up in part 3, that's one thing I have no doubt will return.
