So Mord,Buddy,Bro, I'm sure this is going to make you cringe and want to rip the damn arms off your chair.
That is why this thread is called Guilty Pleasures.
I really like this stuff altho I would never ever crank this in my 4x4 in traffic like I do with Death Metal. But it is great at a party with alcohol and lots of pretty girls.
My wife Kat (RIP baby) LOVED this stuff.

So to do the flipside THIS is more me. I have been recently been diagnosed as Bi-Polar. So that may explain things.

Dude, I have a heart. This is just fine, and I'm glad it brings fond memories back. My girlfriend likes fluffy pop music, too. Some of it even makes ME crack a smile.

Very commercial 60's pop. I have a hard time hating what I grew up with. Pretty catchy actually. 51 years ago too. YOW!

IMO one of the Greatest Monkees songs Ev-ER. Compare these two two based on the bass line.

Homage or ripoff?

Doc C.
As soon as I hear the first few notes it reminded me of a kid/novelty song from around 50 years ago. Googled and couldn't find it.
Note for note here is the song and you have to imagine a huge jamaican voice.

I ate a banana,I ate a 1 ton banana,but IIII'm stil hun-gry, I think that I'll have another.
I ate a banana,I ate a 2 ton banana, but I'm still huungry,I think that I'l have another. Sing until you get tired of it.

Memp, I'm not sure if this is the right thread for Gordan Lightfoot. I grew up listening to that as well as others in the same genre cuz my sisters are all 7-12 years older than me. Maybe should just be in a category that is "Music people would not expect me to listen too. Your choice is great. My fave GL song is Sundown.

Getting back to this thread. I AM a HUGE metal fan but also like various forms of techno,EBM,etc.

I know that among many people this is considered a parody but I LOVE it and back in the late 80's and 90's I could totally bust a move like anyone here. Old age and weight lifting injuries got the best of me and now I can barely bend over to pick up something on the floor. So much for growing old gracefully.

If any band makes my blood run cold with loathing, it's Van Halen. But I've always liked this tune when I've heard it on the radio.

Imagine my disgust when I learned it was by Van Halen....

Musically this track neither differs nor improves on Dionne Warwick's original recording:

But it's still oddly compelling somehow....
