MPC Vampire
« on: January 28, 2009, 01:00:43 AM »
Can anyone answer this question about the MPC line why was the vampire issued in blue glow instead of the normal green? I have all the line except for the Apeman which I had no interest in at the time, so I'm not sure if he was blue or not but I love the blue glow. I bought them from the Captain company at the time and I just love the face on the Mummy it has to be the scariest of all the Mummy models I've seen. Altough the hotrod seems to be from the same mold, I dont have this model but I've seen photos and they seem the same. Have they ever been reissued as I am missing a few bits, thank you for reading.

I had all four of these Haunted Glow Heads kits as a kid.  Today, I just have the Mummy and his box.  Here he is in the UMA display last year at Wonderfest:

You can see the edge of his box to the right.

I wish I had the other three kits.  The Ape Man sometimes pops up at an affordable price, but Werewolf and Vampire are expensive.  And if I bought them, I'd build them.

I don't remember the Vampire glowing a different color than the rest.  But the last time I saw him glow was many decades ago.

Give it the ole glow in the dark test you wont be disappointed it really is a great colour of blue, now if only they used it in the Frightening lightening series at Aurora.

What year did these kits come out?  Maybe I was too focused on collecting Aurora that I missed them?

I never saw those wacky monster head kits when they were released -- only later in the kit mags, etc.  They look like they'd be fun to paint.
