Part of me wants to stage an intervention, as I have never considered the UMA to be a drag.  The other part of me just wants to ignore it and hope it will fix itself.  Not really sure what has happened, but there seem to be a lot of unhappy folks around here lately.  This is a cool place to share new and old toys, discuss the pros and cons of toys, and get other people excited about the toys.  Nothing is personal.  I never felt like anything was ever personal here.  That's one reason I have been around here for so long.  I like that the UMA steers clear of politics, but I feel lately some of the current climate and culture surrounding political discourse is seeping in here.  Let's try and remember that we're talking about toys, that we should celebrate toys and companies who make cool toys, but also offer honest feedback and suggestions to help those companies improve the toys they are offering.  Sound good?  Let's all try to build each other up.  After all, there's only one side in the UMA... The monster side.   ;D

Here here!  ;D

As for this new Mego re-release I must admit that I'm not overly excited by this first wave or the packaging but maybe the packaging will change after the Target year deal is over. It does set them apart from the EMCE series so I guess that is something they probably needed to do.

Saying that though I am happy to hear this news about the Mego  figures getting another go around and will look forward to seeing what they have in store for us. It's be interesting to see if they change their original monster range and also as it's well documented that Mego passed on the Star Wars license I would love to see them tackle some of these figures in this 8" scale. I think people would go crazy for them.

Yes, the ORIGINAL Mego Corp is back with all new figures available exclusively through Target, and they have Universal Monsters.

Saw a blurry pic of Dracula...full reveals are supposed to be coming soon!
Do you mind posing a picture I can't serm to find it.

I cannot seem to find it either Juan. But I did find these at the Mego forums. Looks like they are re-releasing Checkov from the EMCE/DST/Other? wave from a few years back, under the newly revived Mego banner too.

These are being produced in the 10,000 unit edition sizes. Excuse my ignorance on the subject, but how many toys of say NECA Freddy Krueger get produced as a comparative example? Just curious if 10,000 is too few or too many for a retailer like Target, that has about 2000 stores. The one in my area closed. I don't think they have stores outside of the US. Just curious.

That looks a lot (which I suppose it would blurred out) like the old Flattworld Bela figure. I am sure it probably isn't. That will be nice to see. Having an actual Bela in the line might be nice since Emce went with the seemingly Universal Mandated generic Dracula.

I like it when companies show us previews right before the toys hit the shelves.  It's so much more comforting.   :D

I had a couple of their monster figures. I remember buying a Dracula and Wolfman back in Ontario in the early 70s.

I must have played the hell out of them because I dont know where they ended up.
In the early 80s there was a novelty company in Toronto that had a lot of old Mego stock and they sent me a big tv set box full of their stuff-including some unopened Star Trek figures.

All for pretty cheap.
Boy oh boy did I look forward to getting home from school to open the box.

A few years later there was an ad in Starlog selling Star Trek mego toys and they said it had bene found in a warehouse in Toronto. They were selling Mego items for $200 each.
