Moebius Models Bride of Frankenstein Statue Kit.
« on: July 10, 2018, 11:22:34 PM »
Hey everyone,

I've been trying to find any information and pics on how this piece came out. This item was up for pre-order for about 4 years now I believe and then now it's in stock everywhere. I remeber checking 3 months ago and it was still on pre-order.  I'm guessing since Moebius is no longer a company they just sent out as many they had ready to the distributors. Any in hand pics and thoughts on the statue itself? I know the sculpt is basically the same as there styrene kit but this is made of resin it seems and is fully painted with a new base. Really would like to see pics and if anyone has information on why it took so long and if it came out decent. Thanks!

-Ryan

If Sideshow had continued their dioramas, this would've been perfect. They didn't. Yagher and Moebius rectified the situation. Yagher sculpted the Sideshow diroamas. I ahve all those. This fits in perfectly with them. Get one before they are no more.

Thank you so much Anton for the pics. It does look very well done. Paint looks pretty clean and of course the sculpt is killer. Did you just receive it in or did you have it for a while?

I have had it since January or February this year. I have built/painted around a dozen of the styrene kits for commissions. I always liked it, but thought the styrene medium, and the wood base made it seem chintzy. The polystone adds heft, and like I said it fits in great with the Sideshow dios.  It's one of my favorite Frankenstein items now, and I am glad I took the plunge. It's one of those things where everyone forgot about it, and is cautious about buying one because of the high price tag now that its available. I can see it costing more on the secondary market later as the amount they made of them is extremely limited. Sideshow has already sold through all their stock as a retailer/distributor.

This is where I got mine, and its a great price. My pics don't do it justice. The paints are very clean, no slop, and Frankenstein's Monster is actually a sickly jaundiced green, although my pics make him seem flesh toned.  I defintiely recommend the item.

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it! I never forgot about it but it took so long for it to finally come out. I'm glad it came out great. Saving that eBay auction into my watchlist that price is awesome. Sideshow has it in stock but even with there 10% off it can't compare to that $262 price.
