Wow, Craig and I had similar childhoods!!  :D

His list and mine are very similar. I would just add drawing pads, coloring books, comic books, model kits, and any Banana Splits items!

My favorite toys were the Marx playsets like the Civil War,Cape Canaverial,Fort Apache,etc.

Ahh.. childhood toys. That's why I collect toys to this day.

First memory of toys I liked is a rubber jointed alligator and a space ship bank - probably 56-57. Then a cowboy gun Fanner 50, Fighting Lady Battleship, armymen, jungle animals, especially liked rubber knives/bayonets, anything to "play army" outside. Dad provided us with tons of leftover Korean War real stuff - helmet, canteen, ammo box etc. - even a gas mask! Eventual and still champion favorite is MARX Prehistoric Playset.  Models - fighter planes, tanks and Monsters, rubber spiders, comics and so on. Around 1967 I discovered guitar then drifted away from toys, rats ! Missed alot of good stuff!
