I have one of these 23.5" tall monsters, it's like having a small child. I got it at a collectables show years ago for a great price.

Dear Monolith, I LOVE YOUR statue, but I LOVE mine even more.    3 hour road trip yesterday in the blowing rain, all on Interstate highway 80, dodging trucks and foolish pedal to the metal drivers.     Was well worth the harrowing trip.  Check out my BIG FRANKIE Mexican style.   All metallically aglow.

HUGE !  and Wonderful.    I am pretty happy with that adventure, as scary as it was!   I haven't been behind the wheel in 40 years of living city life.
Now I am rural, and to get anywheres you need WHEELS.    So I risked the drive to get my amazing Frank.   The audacity of the artist to paint him in metal.   Even his hair is silvery, like spilled mercury.

HOLLOW.   I think ONLY the Mexican big statues are hollow, according to people who own them.   Thats why I know its not chalkware, can't figure out what the material is, it seems really strong.    The esco statues are def chalkware, solid.   I don't know how Mexico made the big guys but I am told they are banks.  I just can't find the slot on mine.

any body else know what the Big ones are made of?

Plaster of Paris.

Most do not have slots - a few do.

Beats me.  I think they are both actually plaster.  There are many grades of plaster, made from clay, lime, gypsum, etc.

Good Plaster of Paris can be very hard but it doesn't ring like ceramic.  Think of it as ancient resin.  It shatters into sharp shards.

Chalkware is very soft.  Sounds dull when thumped and crumbles.

At least that's my understanding.

This version is solid concrete and it is possible they are being made and sold recently as of today, where abouts I don't know.
Roadside outdoor Statuary and garden places.   Gotta check mine out.

I feel like it is akin to the Resin Frankenstein Halloween buckets being made today.    Its desirable but I prefer the HOLLOWED out version of the Frank "banks".

any body know any info on the solid concrete versions and where they might be found?   Maybe Mexico is shipping them over?

I wouldn't mind having one for the yard.  A Frankengnome.

These are being sold in concrete:

I've seen them listed a few times.

Dear Monolith, just wondering if this Big Guy is hollowed or solid concrete.    Apparently there are concrete SOLID versions to be had.    Although I can't find any LOL
