Or one of those giant cotton-mill machines... fall into one...

This would result in a sequel to Carol Burnett's GONE WITH THE WIND parody, of course.  She'd come down the stairs, not wearing the drapes, but herself, woven into fabric.

And of course, Harvey Korman would have to say, "It's YOU.  It's absolutely YOU."

Just watched THE DEVIL'S DAUGHTER (1973)' One of the best of the witchcraft/devil worship subgenre TV movies from the '70s (and there were a lot of them). Well written by Colin Higgins! Good cast!

So many cool flicks to check out! I'm always finding obscure movies on youtube that I've never heard of before.
"....flying saucers? You mean the kind from up there?"

One of the earliest and most memorable of these TV movies was FEAR NO EVIL (1969), starring Louis Jordan as an investigator of the occult.

It's not available on YouTube, but the sequel RITUAL OF EVIL (1970) is.

Watched "Daughter of the Mind". I know I saw it back in '69, but didn't remember much about it. A combo of cold war spy stuff and psychic phenomenon investigation.  Not bad! Good cast.

Here's the link, again.

I watched RITUAL OF EVIL and THE LOVE WAR. If anybody saw the latter, were you reminded of a particular plot element in THE STING?

Watched THE CAT CREATURE. That was a pretty good one! Belongs in the "mummy" sub genre of Egyptian curse horror. Good script and direction. Builds up a lot of suspense!

Anybody else see any old favorites?

Watched the Dan Curtis FRANKENSTEIN. Given it's "Dark Shadows" connections, it was like watching the soap opera version of Shelly's book. The "flat" video tape photography, under rehearsed acting and Robert Cobert's music. Still, not a bad adaption of the novel. Bo Svenson does a good job as the (talking) monster.

Watched HAUNTS OF THE VERY RICH. It's one of those "Outward Bound" type stories. Watched it back then, but didn't remember all of it. Starts out kind of lame, but it improves!  Good cast helps. Title is a little confusing. Only some of the "guests" were sort of rich.

Here's a new one that I just watched. Steven Spielberg's "Something Evil" (1971). Probably the best of the devil/possessed  TV movies. Very good cast, script and direction! Takes a while to get going.

Watched THE SCREAMING WOMAN, with Olivia de Havilland. Very good adaption of Ray Bradbury's short story. (I think it might have been redone on "Ray Bradbury Theater"?) It's a lot of fun watching these, again, after all these years!

Yeah.

The lead actor was played by Drew Barrymore in 1986.

The TV movie changes the original story's protagonist from a little girl to an older woman. In Bradbury's story nobody believes her because she's just a little kid and in the TV movie it's because she had a breakdown after her husband died.

Watched THE NORLISS TAPES. Another Dan Curtis pro/dir movie done in a style similar to THE NIGHT STALKER. They even use the same style end credits intro of the main monster! Excellent script by Wm F. Nolan. No wonder this one is fondly remembered. It really delivers the goods!
