I had to read it over twice just to make sure I understood what the seller was getting at. I would love one of those Frankenstein sharpeners/not sharpeners. I think an orginal is way out of my reach so would be happy with a cast one just to fill in my set but at $99 for the starting bid I'll have to pass.

I'm sure we're going to see more and more of these recast ones in the future and at least they're easy to spot the difference between this and the originals.

Its lke the current buckets being produced and sold on ebay, its fine until you can get a real one.

Personally I prefer having the real ones, bucket or sharpener, and as far as out of reach, it really isnt.   Put it into perspective, if you spend 500 on a sharpener, its for as long as you want to keep it in your collection.  one payment.


I can spend 500 easily in two weeks on gas, groceries, goods, etc.. etc...        but I can come home and see my one time payment on the 500.00 Frankenstein Pencil Sharpener, well worth it.
