The best way to get a link is to right click on the actual video and copy the desired link.

I've learned to remove the "s" from https. On some browsers, I see a preview image. On others, I don't.

Thanks for this fine bio on a Topstone rarity. There must be some way to preserve your lone original, perhaps a coat of matte finish sealant ... ?

I did that when I repaired his ear. I was concerned that the sealant would contain solvents that might harm the mask, but the rubber has already turned to stone, so to speak. It's been a few years and nothing has happened yet...though I haven't checked him today...

There is some irony in trying to stop a "Melting Man" mask from melting.

Excellent installment Ray! You hit the nail on the head. This was my hands down favorite Topstone mask as a kid. I had a chance to purchase the VXX recast and I regret not picking it up now. Great job!

'Most enjoyable, raycastile. What I like most is that Topstone's version is unique, totally unlike other Mummy masks. Perhaps it's time I go looking for one.

Love these videos! Too bad that later copies of the mask lost that bandage texture; it really was a nice touch on the original.

Mr Gracebuster... not to go off-topic. But, I finally saw the Criminal Minds you were in. Wow! Great episode!

Without trying to be a stick in the mud... it is a misconception to call the Topstone masks I produced 'recasts'. With the exception of a few of the very early Shock Monster masks, they were all made from the original master copies. A recast would be something that was molded from a production mask. I call them re-issues.  I have seen this posted more then once here & there so just wanted to clear that up...thanks...D

PS.  Another great video Ray.

My apologies Darrell. You are 100% correct. Recasts are typically frowned upon in our hobby and it was a disservice to call your work that. Let me rephrase "I had a chance to purchase the VXX reissue and I regret not picking it up now."  ;)
