On September 29th, a new film starring Harry hits theaters. I've been looking forward to it for months, because Harry is my favorite actor. The film is called "Lucky" and it was written for Harry and Harry only, incorporating his life and philosophies into it. He was lucky in real life, because he lived to 91, and more importantly, had many great friends in showbiz (and outside showbiz too, I'm sure) who he knew loved him.

His audience was lucky, too...because when it came to authenticity in a performance, Harry always delivered. I will miss him.

In this nano-second world, I understand the need for a response to the death of Harry Dean Stanton. But it is difficult.

I had the humbling good fortune and honor to watch over Harry's final performance in intimate, exquisite detail. I watched over every second of it again and again over hours, days, weeks and months these last 2 years. It was a gift beyond measure. He is amazing in it.

But he was amazing in everything he ever did.

And as a man, he was singular. Funny and mischievous, wise and furious, loving and kind, and always, always beautiful.

I am sure there is more to be said, but for now, I celebrate his life, his work, and will hug the loved ones he left behind.

Thank you, Harry Dean. Thank you, Harry Dean. Thank you.
